Recology Materials Recovery Facility Tours

Take a peek behind the scenes and see how your recyclable materials are sorted and processed. This 85,000 square foot facility is where the blue recycling bin materials from 13 communities in Sonoma and Marin Counties are sorted and processed. Inside the new facility, recyclables are separated by revolutionary machinery like optical sorters and ballistic separators alongside our team of skilled recycling sorters. The facility processes around 400 tons of materials every day and has a recovery rate of 85 percent for materials collected.
